Dr. John Erkoyuncu is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Service Engineering at Cranfield University. He is the Deputy Director of the Through-life Engineering Services Centre and the Course Director for the MSc in Through-life System Sustainment. His research focuses on developing innovative digital solutions ranging from risk and uncertainty quantification, to dynamic time based modelling (e.g. agent based) and to visualisation including (e.g. augmented reality and digital twins). His research contributes to solving challenges in sectors including manufacturing, aerospace, defence, pharma and healthcare. John is currently the Chair of the Academic Research Network for the Institute of Asset Management, and the Chair of the Research Affiliates for CIRP (Production Engineering). In these roles Dr. Erkoyuncu enjoys developing collaboration between industry and academia. John is passionate about by developing cutting edge research in digital engineering to increase productivity in a cost effective manner and to control risk and uncertainty in complex systems.
